Dear colleagues in education and training,
The Learning Teacher Network's 9th International Conference will be held at the four star Hotel Tivoli Oriente in Lisbon, Portugal on 26-28 September 2013 with the title "Education for Sustainable Development".
Education for sustainable development (ESD) is a matter of rapidly growing importance, concern and recognition on international, European, national and local levels. The conference will contribute to knowledge building, discussion and awareness in relation to education, and address key elements of sustainability in teaching and learning.
Five internationally recognized, high profile keynote speakers will attend and speak to the conference:

* Ms Soo-Hyang Choi, Director of the Division of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development at UNESCO

* Prof. Akpezi Ogbuigwe, former Head of environmental education and training at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)

* Prof. Tom Tiller, University of Tromsø, Norway

* Mr. David DeLuca, Head of Campaigns, the, USA

Furthermore, the conference programme is composed of more than 40 sessions (workshops, lectures) given by more than 70 presenters from 16 countries. These colleagues from all levels of education and training contribute to create this high quality conference, which we are convinced will bring high value, learning and new knowledge, plenty of opportunities for networking, and a pleasant time together in Lisbon for all conference participants.
You find full and comprehensive conference information published on the network website (direct link to the conference pages: Information is provided about the sessions and the keynote speakers but also the complete structure, ESD resources, on-line registration, the venue, and much more.
